Hypnotherapy is an exciting and positive way to help you improve your life!

While you only have one mind, it is best understood as being divided up into the following:

  • Conscious Mind (outer consciousness): The part of your mind that is responsible for short term memory, logic, reasoning and voluntary movement. The conscious part of our mind only uses 10% of our mind capacity, whereas our subconscious uses 90%.
  • Subconscious Mind (inner consciousness): The part of our mind which is responsible for involuntary actions and regulates our physical body – respiration, adjusting hormone levels, digestion, heart beat etc. The subconscious mind also stores our memories, thoughts and behaviours.

Justine has designed this Guided Deep Relaxation you can use to help you create some stillness in your life.  This recording is created in such a way that you will benefit from it time and again.

When learning something for the first time, like driving a car, our conscious mind absorbs the new information and, once we have practiced driving over a period of time, it then becomes a function of our subconscious mind.

Habits are formed in the same way, like smoking. People will usually begin smoking with a conscious decision – peer pressure, stress etc. Once they have been smoking repetitively over time, they then continue with the habit on autopilot.

When people make a decision to change, it can be very difficult to achieve as our subconscious mind controls our behaviour.

For example, you consciously know that smoking is an expensive habit and bad for your health, but if the subconscious has its own reasons for wanting to carry on smoking, the subconscious part of our mind will usually win.

So, how do you access the subconscious mind to create lasting change?

This is where hypnosis and hypnotherapy can help.

Hypnotherapists use the state of hypnosis to facilitate communication between the conscious and subconscious minds. The conscious (analytical) mind enjoys a break, while your subconscious mind is open and receptive to positive commands and suggestions.

So what is hypnosis exactly? It is an altered state of awareness where you feel completely relaxed mentally, physically and emotionally. Hypnosis is a very natural state which you experience many times throughout the day. It is similar to reading a good book, watching a movie or daydreaming – you experience deep relaxation, while your mind is still alert to your physical sensations and surroundings.

New Leaf Healing Hypnotherapy

One of the many benefits of hypnotherapy is learning simple and effective self-hypnosis techniques from your hypnotherapist. Once you master these techniques and put them into practice, you will then be able to give yourself suggestions and develop skills of being more relaxed in stressful or difficult situations.

Hypnotherapy sessions are conducted in a confidential and relaxing environment. The sessions usually take one hour, however, please allow extra time for your first session.

For any questions or to book a session, feel free to get in touch.

I have suffered from a fear of public speaking all my life.

When a good friend asked me to read a lengthy poem at her wedding, my first reaction was to say no, but I felt like I had said no too many times before and the fear had dictated my behaviour for far too long.

On recommendation, I went to see Justine for a 3 session treatment of hypnotherapy. I was instantly put at ease by her calm and warm nature.

Her holistic approach to the treatment of my fear was the perfect remedy for me and remarkably the paralysing panic I used to feel when speaking in public (or even thinking about speaking in public) disappeared by the end of the treatment.

I would without doubt recommend anyone with a fear or habit to give Justine a call, as hypnotherapy is something that can change your life for the better.
